Oddflower’s new handbag is a literal statement piece.

Painted with messaging like “TOXIC” and “BAN THIS BAG,” Oddflower’s Moss Puffer handbag is a work of art, and a literal statement piece. Its construction is dystopian. Utilitarian. Using real preserved moss as a puffer-like material, encased in clear plastic fabric and reinforced with military grade kevlar thread.

Our goal with this project was to design a visual representation of the direct impact that plastics have on the environment…

Known for their line of locally and ethically made, small batch and upcycled fashion, Oddflower is an LA-based artist duo project turned lifestyle brand. Oddflower highlights a question that should be on every brand’s mind:

What is the real cost of fashion?

PVC is one of the most ideal materials to design durable, inexpensive consumer products across all industries – and the least recycled plastic of them all. In late 2023, the EPA announced the beginning of a regulatory process to designate vinyl chloride as a “high-priority chemical” under the Toxic Substances Control Act – but the Trump administration’s plans to slash the EPA’s budget by 65 percent and remove thousands of agency employees could disrupt the program’s ability to further regulate harmful industrial chemicals.

It’s people standing up to make a statement that forces politicians and big corporations to act, and follow through…

PVC is toxic at all stages of production and disposal. Period. Together we can find alternative solutions and take action to protect our future.
